Announcement

The motivation for the formation of the association is the increasing awareness of our lake’s vulnerability to the effects of growing populations, increased traffic, and development. The mission of the association is to preserve and protect the aesthetic, recreational, and economic value of Lake Nipmuc and its watershed.

This organization is not only for our townspeople who live in close vicinity to Lake Nipmuc, but for anyone else in Mendon who considers this to be a special place. Maybe you or your children learned to swim in its waters and sought relief from the sweltering summer heat on its shores. Or participated in the traditional family activities such as the Great Cardboard Boat Race. Or enjoyed fishing for large mouth bass and yellow perch.

And maybe you take all this for granted. But without protection, without public outreach in matters of watershed management, without community awareness through educational opportunities, this special place, this place of the heart, could eventually be lost.

Hello Friends and Neighbors!

As you are no doubt aware, increased population, traffic, and development is becoming a growing threat to the peace, tranquility and beauty that contribute so much to your daily enjoyment of this unique environment “Lake Nipmuc”.

In order to preserve the aesthetic, recreational, and economic value of this natural resource, a group of concerned residents has come together to form “The Lake Nipmuc Association”. . .
