Subject: Lake Nipmuc Association Stormwater

Fred and Karen,

I received this from Peter Coffin. As you probably know, Peter is a member of the Blackstone River Coalition and the Mendon Conservation Commission. I did thank him for taking this action. I had no idea the problem was widespread or had such political ramifications.

Shirley & Jim,

I called Terry Beaudoin @ DEP this am. She has passed on the request to the powers that be, and will get back with who we should follow up with. It is technically a wetlands issue, so one angle is to approach the local ConCom. It is also a problem across the State, which implies a larger, political campaign. Other Ponds are facing similar Issues,Lake Ripple in Grafton & Dorothy Pond in Millbury come to mind. I think this is a critical issue for the Campaign for a Fishable/Swimmable Blackstone, especially as it addresses stormwater at all the different levels, Local advocates for ponds, Town boards, and the struggle between state agencies.
