An old postcard showing The Bridge in Lake Nipmuc
Park!

|

The building in the background of this postcard housed the
Pleasure Island Carousel on the Midway at Lake
Nipmuc Park in Mendon, Massachusetts prior to its move to Wakefield in
1960. From Tom Irons, Mendon, via George Appleton.

A recently received contribution from Peter Thompson who
grew up in Mendon and spent many years on and around Lake Nipmuc during
the sixties and seventies.

He found this postcard at the Brimfield flea market several years ago and
proudly displays it in his home as a reminder of his youth. There was no
date on the postcard but it is obviously before houses were built in the
area and the postage on the card was one cent.
If you have any
questions concerning people who lived in Mendon during the period that
Peter
was growing up there feel free to email him at
pthompson56@earthlink.net.
