· Meeting commenced at 7:07pm. · Minutes of November meeting – minutes modified as follows: delete last sentence in paragraph one “The bottom line is to stop this sewage being dumped into the lake.”; change town-owed to town-owned; last paragraph first sentence change to “Ted motioned to accept….”; add sentence to last paragraph as follows “The Board will continuously review the public access project to be completed by the Eagle Scout, David Fleury.” Motion made by Shirley S. to accept minutes as modified, seconded by Ileen M., approved. · New membership update – Ileen received one renewal and one new membership. In total, there are 48 members. Ileen will add a renewal form to the newsletter to notify members to complete form and return with membership dues. · Treasurer’s report – Current financials are $773.02 plus new membership and renewal minus $10 reimbursement for Laura T. equals $808.02. · Stormwater Issue Shirley sent a letter to State Rep John Fernandes regarding the delay on the Route 16 work. As of this week, Mass Highway has sent workers out to hook up four catch basins and other work needed to resolve the stormwater runoff problem. After the work is done, the Association will send a letter to Mass Highway thanking them for their efforts. · Lake Monitoring The Association got on the Board of Health’s agenda to discuss a potential pipe discharge located at the rear of Alicante’s which was observed by local fisherman Frank Gandolfi. The Association’s primary concern was whether this discharge contained potentially harmful pollutants detrimental to the Lake’s health. Several Association members also attended the meeting. Due to this observation, an inspection took place sometime after the meeting to determine if there was a pipe discharging into the Lake from Alicante’s. Shirley received a letter from the Board of Health concluding that there was no pipe discharging harmful pollutants into the Lake. · Newsletter The newsletter is almost finalized and will be mailed out to everyone before year end. Ileen presented the final draft at the meeting. · Public Access The Board will continue to update members on the status of the public access project to be completed by Eagle Scout, David Fleury. · Other Business Shirley received a letter from the Selectmen stating approval of redecorating the planters outside of town hall. Mendon Greenhouse will supply the balsam pines and bow for $35 per planter. Shirley’s son will paint them. Shirley will also find out about signs for the planters. She has a contact at Greenleaf Garden Club of Milford to see what they use for signs. A motion was made by Shirley to go forward with the planters and seconded by Ileen, all were in favor. · Next Meeting Rescheduled to Tuesday, January 6th at 7pm at the Mendon Senior Center due to the Holidays. · Meeting adjourned at 8pm.
